The Black-browed is an Asian barbet native to Peninsular Malaysia & Sumatra, where it inhabits foremost forests between 600 and 2,000 m altitude. A loud but sluggish & difficult-to-see canopy inhabitant of highland forests in peninsular Malaysia & Sumatra. Note the leaf-green body, brightly coloured face, & heavy black bill. More often heard than seen; listen for its long, unending series of hollow-sounding notes. Like many other barbets, it can be difficult to locate when singing, but can sometimes be seen at fruiting trees. Formerly regarded as the same species as Taiwan, Indochinese, and Chinese Barbets.

The Little Spiderhunter is a species of long-billed nectar-feeding bird in the family Nectariniidae found in the moist forests of South and Southeast Asia. Unlike typical sunbirds, males and females are very similar in plumage usually seen in ones or twos. An active little bird with a long, slightly decurved bill, olive back, lemon-yellow underparts, & faint gray-and-white facial pattern. Active in the lower levels of secondary forest, forest edge, plantations, and gardens. Despite its name, also eats insects and nectar from flowers. Gives a wide range of buzzy nasal-sounding calls.

The orange-bellied leafbird is a bird native to the central and eastern Himalayas, Yunnan and northern parts of Southeast Asia. The greyish-crowned leafbird, which is found in Hainan, is again considered conspecific. The scientific name commemorates the English naturalist Thomas Hardwicke.

The rufous-browed flycatcher is a unique-looking flycatcher with a gleamingly clean white throat & a strong rusty orange tinge to the brow and forehead. There is an overlap with the closely related White-gorgeted Flycatcher but it lacks that species’s gray face & black border to the white throat patch. It inhabits foothill and montane forests, where it forages close to the ground in lower vegetation.
