White-capped Redstart/ White-capped Water Redstart
The White-capped Redstart or White-capped Water Redstart (Phoenicurus leucocephalus) is a passerine bird of the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae native to the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, much of China, and to certain regions of Central Asia.
The White-capped is a chunky, brightly-colored redstart found along rushing boulder-strewn mountain streams. It is black with a wine-red belly and tail and a blazing white cap. in poor lighting, the bird appears to be all dark save for the cap. It can frequently be seen flicking its tail up and down and flaring it open while perched on a streamside rock or stump. The call is a long, sharp whistle with an abrupt ending, with a far-carrying, ventriloquial quality - it can be heard in the background in the video.

Hill-blue Flycatcher
A medium-sized and confusing flycatcher. The male is beautifully coloured, with deep blue upper parts, an orange throat & breast, and a white belly. The female is duller and very similar to and closely-related to the Large Blue Flycatcher. It breeds in hilly & montane broadleaf thickets, often in areas with dense undergrowth and migrates to lower altitudes in winter. Their calls are a loud “chak” or “tak,” reminiscent of stones tapping.

Long-tailed Shrike
The Long-tailed Shrike or rufous-backed shrike (Lanius schach) is a member of the bird family Laniidae, the shrikes. They are found widely distributed across Asia and there are variations in plumage across the range.
The Long-tailed Shrike is a large, noisy shrike typical of open habitats across Asia. The adults have a dark mask and a light gray upper back with a variable amount of orange on lower back and flanks. The eastern subspecies has complete black cap with the melanistic form having more extensive dark mask & being darker overall. The juveniles difficult to separate from other juvenile shrikes. Gives loud, screeching calls; also mimics other birds.

Large Scimitar Babbler
The Old World Babblers are a family of passerine birds diverse in size and coloration, characterised by soft fluffy plumage. These are birds of tropical areas, with the greatest variety in Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent. This group is among those Old World bird families with the highest number of species still being discovered. I also included Pnoepygidae as they have long been placed in the babbler family Timaliidae. Featured here is the Large Scimitar Babbler from Kaeng Krachan National Park.
The Large Scimitar Babbler is a handsome and slightly primal-looking babbler of wooded areas, thick fields, and bamboo tangles, wherever there is extensive cover. Angular chestnut crescent behind the ear, combined with the smattering of silver spots behind it, a white throat, and dark eyes, is unique. Forages on the ground and in the understory, usually in pairs or small flocks; does not usually form large flocks as do many other scimitar-babblers.

Slaty-backed Forktail
The slaty-backed forktail (Enicurus schistaceus) is a species of forktail in the family Muscicapidae. A slim, medium-sized forktail, it is distinguished from similar species by its slate grey forehead, crown, and mantle. The only forktail in its range for which the adult has a gray back and crown; pattern is otherwise similar to that of Black-backed Forktail, which it overlaps partially in range. White on the head is restricted to a thick eyebrow that reaches behind the eye--instead of a full crown--giving it a more small-headed appearance than White-crowned and Spotted forktails. Like other forktails, prefers fast-flowing forested streams.

Grey-backed Shrike
The grey-backed shrike (Lanius tephronotus) is a species of bird in the family Laniidae. It is found in Bangladesh, India (Uttarakhand), Nepal, Bhutan, China and Yunnan.
Among the shrikes, they breed at the highest altitude. They are partial migrants, with some populations moving south in winter. They breed in summer from late May to early July. The nest is built in a bush and about 3 to 5 eggs are laid. The eggs are incubated by the female alone and incubation is begun even before the complete clutch is laid. The chicks hatch after 15–18 days and are taken care of by both the parents until the fledge after about two weeks.

Rufous-throated Partridge
The Rufous-throated Partridge is a beautiful little game bird of foothill and highland forests with extensive ground-level cover, where it moves about in medium-sized convoys through the dense undergrowth. Usually quiet it sings melodically and loudly at dusk and dawn. It is brightly coloured, even for a partridge with both sexes having a bright orange throat, a bluish-gray chest, and orange-and-white spotting on the sides.
