Mrs. Hume’s Pheasant
The Near Threatened Mrs. Hume's pheasant, also known as Hume's pheasant or the bar-tailed pheasant, is a large, dashingly plumaged, long-tailed terrestrial forest pheasant. The male has a chestnut body, steely blue neck & wing patches, white wing bars, and a long black-and-white banded tail. The brownish female is shorter-tailed, with black-spotted upperparts and red facial patch. They are usually found singly, in pairs, or in trios in forest openings, meadows, and along rural roadsides, typically in the early morning.

Yellow-billed Blue Magpie
I return again to the Singalila Ridge, in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, at an altitude of more than 7000 feet above mean sea level, in search of a colourful long-tailed corvid - the Yellow-billed Blue Magpie. Similar in coloration to the Red-billed, the Yellow-billed is a paler blue overall, with a small white patch at the back of the crown instead of an extensive white stripe, and a bright yellow bill instead of a scarlet one. Primarily found in Himalayan hill forest, with disjunct populations in northwestern Myanmar and northern Vietnam.

Black-faced Laughingthrush
The black-faced laughingthrush is a shy, beautifully patterned laughingthrush species in the family Leiothrichidae. Stripe-throated Yuhina
A brief interlude with the stripe-throated yuhina, a bird species in the white-eye family Zosteropidae. It is found from the Himalayas to southern China & central Vietnam. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
It is a large brown yuhina with a tall, upswept crest and black-and-orange panels on the wings. The streaked throat can sometimes be difficult to see.

White-browed Fulvetta
The white-browed fulvetta is a bird species in the family Sylviidae. It is a chunky fulvetta of scrubby, stunted subalpine forests. Striking and unmistakable, with orange-suffused wings, a dark crown, and a bright white throat and brow. It moves through low vegetation in large flocks, sometimes with other species.
Ranging across the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, it is endemic to Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal and Vietnam. Its natural habitat is temperate forests.

Blue-fronted Redstart
The unmistakable Blue-fronted Redstart (Phoenicurus frontalis) is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae, the Old World Flycatchers. It breeds in central China and the Himalayas (where it winters in the southern foothills, as well as in Yunnan, Northeast India and northern Southeast Asia). Its natural habitat is temperate forests. It is also known as the Chinese blue-fronted redstart and Blue-breasted Redstart

Laughingthrushes
Laughingthrushes are also a family of Old World passerine birds diverse in size and coloration. These are birds of tropical areas, with the greatest variety in Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent. The entire family used to be included in the Timaliidae. I have also included some Sibias from Heterophasia as they are a genus of the same family.
